The Thames Valley Group of Advanced Motorists (group 2061) is one of more than two hundred local
organisations affiliated to the Institute of Advanced Motorists (IAM).
The Group is based in Maidenhead and covers the area shown here.
We are a group of car drivers who are dedicated to the advancement of Road Safety
by improving the driving standards of ourselves and others to that required by the IAM. Our objective is to
improve the quality and quantity of better drivers on our overcrowded road system.
The Thames Valley group was formed in June 1978 and now has in excess of 360 members from all walks of
life and ages ranging from 18 to 80. Meetings are held at Holyport, to the south
of Maidenhead and close to Junction 8 on the M4.

M4 J5-7 Roadworks
Work on the upgrade continues this week, so expect narrow lanes and speed restrictions. From 22:00 Friday 11th December until 05:00 on Monday 14th
there will be single lane runnig on the east- and westbound carriageways, except 05:30 Saturday to 22:00 Sunday when two lanes will be available.
A 50mph speed restriction will be in force with CCTV and free recovery. The speed re3striction and narrow lanes will continue until work is
completed in Spring 2010.
